Every Indian’s Checklist: Rights of women who complains of sexual harassment at work

What constitutes sexual harassment in the workplace? What are our rights? We, from Suno India, want women who are sexually harassed in the workplace to know their rights and how to go about filing a complaint and taking action against their perpetrators. In our previous episode, we told you how a criminal complaint of rape, sexual harassment, or molestation.. In this episode, we focus on provisions under Sexual Harassment of Women at Workplace (Prevention, Prohibition, and Redressal) Act or the POSH act, meant exclusively for sexual harassment at the workplace. This law is meant for women who want to just continue working in their organisations with dignity, without having to file a FIR. For this episode of The Suno India Show’s Every Indian’s Checklist, Suno India reporter Vaishali Pandiyen spoke with Abhimanyu Tewari, a Delhi-based lawyer about what women should keep in mind before raising a complaint before the workplace and what to expect after that.
We referred to Shebox, which contains all the resources related to the POSH Act, Rules and other guidelines related to the POSH Act. Here’s the Human Rights Watch report on the 2018 study done by Martha Farrell Foundation and Society for Participatory Research in Asia.
